Report reaching liveschoolnews desk has it that, the West African Examinations Council had withheld the results of 47,289 candidates out of 396,614 candidates that sat for the Nov./Dec.2012 West African Senior School Certificate Examination for alleged Exam Malpractices.
According to Mr. CHARLES Eguridu, the Head of the Nigeria National Office, WAEC, who made this known at a news briefing in Lagos on Friday, said the results representing 11.04 per cent were being withheld in connection with various cases of examination malpractice.
His Words, “These results are being investigated and the reports of the investigation will be presented to the Nigerian Examinations Committee of the Council shortly for consideration.
The committee’s decision will be communicated to the affected candidates through our zonal and branch offices.”
Eguridu said a total of 413,266 candidates registered for the examination, but only 396,614 candidates, consisting of 216,600 males and 180,014 females, sat for the examination.
