UNIZIK Academic And Non- Academic Activities Commence Today, 5th JAN. 2015

All academic and non academic activities in Nnamdi Azikiwe University. Unizik are expected to commence today, 5th January, 2015 after the school went on a Christmas break on the 22nd of December, 2014. Students are hereby asked to resume with immediate effect as lecturers are ready to discharge their duties.

Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka has scheduled it’s matriculation ceremonies as follows:
Orientation Wednesday 14th & 15th 2015 9am at Multipurpose Hall.
Friday 16th Jan. 2015 is Matriculation day.

In the same vein, the 23rd President, Students Union Government of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka. led by Comrade Eyisi has decided to ameliorate the plight of students as regards to the transportation within the school premises. After consulting with the drivers late yesterday, the fare per drop was brought down to N20. According the president, the welfare of the students is very paramount to his administration and has sworn to do everything possible in his capacity to restore the pride of an average zikite.

The president noted that the change takes immediate effect today, Monday, 5th of January, 2015. Comrade Eyisi further disclosed that machineries have already been put in place as regards the sustenance of the fare.

Prior to this move, his excellency had earlier during the Christmas break called on the attention of the Anambra State Waste Management Agency (ASWAMA) to clear the waste at the school gate which hitherto has constituted a terrible eye sore to students residing around there and passers-by.

The newly elected president advises Zikites to conduct themselves and be in their best behaviours as they relate with the drivers this new year urging the drivers to treat the students with respect.

Comr. Eyisi further hinted that his administration would also diversify into other areas that bothers on students’ welfare such like price of food and drinks in the school, accommodation, light, to mention but a few. He advises students to support and believe in his government as this will be the only way to make the union come alive again. He promises that the up-coming matriculation would be memorable.

He also disclosed that efforts are already on ground to kick start the presidential media chat at UNIZIK 94.1fm. According to him, the programme which would run weekly and would kick off next week is a platform where the students get to interact with the president.
