PATIENCE JONATHAN CENTRE FOR GENDER AND WOMEN DEVELOPMENT STUDIES
Applications are invited fromsuitably qualified candidates for admission into the Master of Art (MA) Degree and Post-Graduate Diploma (PGD) Programmes in Genderand Women Development Studies of the University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria.
I.Main Objectives of the Programmes
The Programmes are interdisciplinary and focus on men and women issues toprovide the required knowledge for achieving positive gender relations for effective collaboration of human population in different environments.
Among other things, opportunity is provided for men and women to an in-depth engagement in the revitalization, transmission and continuous delivery of research-based information on gender equity and women development.
(a) Post-Graduate Diploma
To qualify for admission into the Post-Graduate Diploma Programme, a candidate must possess a Third Class Degree or its equivalent witha CGPA of 1.5 points on 5-point scale of the University of Port Harcourt in any field.
For candidates with the HND background, a minimum of Lower Credit shall be considered.
(b) Master of Art (MA):
For admission into the Master of Art (MA) Programme, a candidate must possess, at least, a Second Class Honours, Lower Division in Gender and Women Development Studies or a degree in the Social Sciences/Humanities/Education from any recognized tertiary institution, with a CGPA of 3.00 on 5-point scale of the University of Port Harcourt; or a minimum grade of Meritat Post Graduate Diploma level in Gender and Women Development Studies.
3.Duration of the Programmes
The minimum duration for Full-Time studies for MA or PGD is twelve (12) calendar months, while the minimum duration for Part-Time is twenty-four (24) calendar months.

5.Submission of Completed Application Forms
