Despite closure of most of the public and private institution in Borno State as a result of threat from the dreaded Boko Haram, the authorities at the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) have set October 20, as resumption date for the 2014/2015 academic session.
The institution only closed recently after the second semester examination.
The university management employed both new and returning students to adhere to the resumption date.
A circular issued by Registrar of the University, Mal. Babagana Aji, indicated that the Senate at its meeting held on September 30, approved the registration of new students to commence on October 22, while that of returning students will commence on Monday, November 3.
The circular said lectures for all students will commence from November 10, 2014.
A statement issued by the Chief Information Officer of the university, Mallam Mohammed Tanko Ahmed, noted that registration for all students ends on November 24, 2014.
