UNIBEN Lecturer Arrested For Forgery

A lecturer of the Chemistry Department of the University of Benin (UNIBEN) who allegedly forged the letter headed paper of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, and signature of the Chairman of ASUU, UNIBEN chapter, Dr. Anthony Monye-Emina have been apprehended by the police in Ugbowo, Edo State.

Our correspondent gathered that the police had been on his trail for over a month, though he was arrested Saturday.

He was alleged to have used the letter headed paper to write a petition to the Minister of Education, where he alleged that Prof.Oshodin was no longer fit to man the affairs of the university due to ill health, therefore an acting VC should be appointed.
