Forlorn report reaching liveschoolnews desk has it that, Two students of the Federal Government College, Keffi, Nasarawa State, Manu Rashidu and Abdullahi Shuaibu Danbawa, were said to have been drowned in a stream within the school premises while running away from a staff who they thought was coming after them.

Liveschoolnews learnt that the incident which occurred around 10.30 a.m, threw the whole community into mourning. It was gathered that the deceased, both in Senior Secondary School II, with others numbering about 10, were said to be in the hostels that morning, buton sighting the Senior Boarding Master approaching the hostels, the truant students scampered in various directions, with some running towards the football field, while others made their way back to the school.

Witnesses told the liveschoolnews that the boarding master was going to the hostels to inspect ongoing repairs in the SS3 hostel, but when they saw him, they thought he was after them and they started running.

Liveschoolnews also learnt that the dead students had arecord for notoriety, as each of them was said to have served multiple suspensions. Sources who confided in the liveschoolnews disclosed that the whereabouts of the students could not be immediately ascertained, because the school authorityhad to wait until bed check before they realised they were missing.

The principal of the school, Dr(Mrs) O. M. Ajala, who declined to talk to journalists, however, said the school authorities had channelled its report on the incident to the appropriate superior quarters.
