A Female corps member has been reportedly killed in a robbery attack at a branch of a first generation bank in Ikere-Ekiti community, Ekiti State.
Liveschoolnews.com.ng grapevine learnt that Two policemen, a male and a female and two others,were also killed by the hoodlums.
Our correspondent gathered that the robbers numbering over ten stormed the bank, in Ikere Ekiti. According to eyewitnesses, the armed men first attacked the Ikere Police Station and killed two police officers on duty, one was said to be in plain cloth.
The eyewitnesses also said the armed men thereafter went to the bank and killed two other persons, a male and a female at the bank’s ATM stand. The female victim was said to be a corps member serving in the area.
The robbers were said to have run into the town in different directions, following the arrival of soldiers and policemen on the scene, with the source adding that they shot indiscriminately as they escaped.
The same branch of the bank was also robbed late last year when the branch was bombed.
When called to confirm the incident, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Victor Babayemi, confirmed the incident but said he could not comment on the incident as at the time of filing this report as he was expecting reports from the affected station.
