Redeemers University Expels 22 Students For Not Attending Church Service

Report reaching HQ has it that about 22 students may have been expelled by the authorities of Redeemers University, Redemption City, Ogun State, Nigeria, recently for what was described as “disregard of paramount core values. gathered that the Students were expelled for missing church activities.

Some of the affected students gave account of what happened recently and pleaded with the school authorities to tamper justice with mercy in order to save their future.

One of the affected student is an asthmatic patient. The student disclosed to grapevine that she had asthma attack on that faithful day which prompted her to missed Church service.

The students have been asked to go and inform their parents of the suspension and parents are planning to storm the school.

According to one of the affected student, The school’s students handbook stated that ‘Absence from corporate worship hours’ will attract a deduction of 10points from the offenders total 100 points.

So why suspending them the student ask?

Suspending the students will make them not seat for their forthcoming exams and will also make them pay another N400,000 as school fees.


Above is what one of them sent, underlining the penalty for their offense, which clearly says it’s a reduction of 10points.

The source also made it clear that she is very much aware that Pastor Adeboye does not know how some of these porters victimize some of the students. She said when the bold ones among them confronted their porters that their offence does not warrant a suspension, they told them, we know, we just want to make you scape goats.

Some of the parents of the affected students who spoke to grapevine said that the expulsion was unacceptable, and was not commensurate with the offence deemed to have been committed. They urged the school authorities to rescind its decision adding that the future of the students is at stake.

The school authority has however not made any comment on the issue.
