Rector Appealed To ASUP To Suspend Strike

Rector of Hussaini Adamu Federal Polytechnic, Kazaure, Jigawa State, Dr. Ibrahim Kabir Matazu, has appealed to members of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic (ASUP) to suspend the ongoing strike and go back to class.

He made the call during the opening ceremony of the zonal executive council meeting of the union in Kazaure yesterday. The rector, who was represented by his deputy, Mrs. Gaji Bello Hussaini, pleaded with the union to consider the plight of teeming students roaming the streets because of the ongoing strike. In his response, national secretary general of ASUP, Comrade Usman Ndah Umar, thanked the rector for the call while appealing to the Federal Government to meet their demands.
