There was pandemonium and chaos in Jos the Plateau State, on Thursday, following the discovery of highly explosive objects between a secondary and primary schools in the city, thereby forcing the closure of the school and passersby scampering for safety.
schoolwatch.com.ng gathered that the explosive objects were positioned in-between a private secondary school, Tin City College and Fatima Primary School, in the early hours of Thursday.
It was gathered from the scene that the explosive was discovered by a pupil of the primary school, who quickly alerted the school authority, while the headmaster and other teachers dashed to the nearby Laranto police station to infrom the police of the objects.
The device was reportedly defused by the Police Anti-bomb squad with one of the experts who did not want to be named saying that the fuse on the bomb had been lit, but it went off before it could cause an explosion.
The incident caused commotion and apprehension in the area and other parts of the state capital.
Media officer, Special Task Force, Captain Iweka Ikediche, who confirmed the incident, urged the people of the state to be more vigilant and report any strange object for prompt investigation.
