Oko Poly Rector Appointment Renewed For Another 4 Years

The Governing Council of the Federal Polytechnic Oko, Anambra State, Yesterday, renewed the rector appointment of the institution, Professor Godwin Onu for another four years.

This was made know to schoolwatch.com.ng grapevine by the Chairman of the Council Dr. Azubike Odukwe.

In the same vein, The Governing Council of the institution honoured the rector of the Institution for his exceptional infrastructure development on campus.

Chairman of the Council, Dr. Azubike Odukwe, who presented a plaque to the rector at the council chambers, during a brief ceremony, said it was in commemoration of the commencement of the second tenure of the rector.

According to Odukwe, the Council of Heads of Polytechnics and Colleges of Technology in Nigeria (COHEADS) who were in the polytechnic last week, confirmed the infrastructural strides of Onu in the polytechnic.

He said Onu-led administration had placed the institution among the best in the country.

“We are happy to say that this present governing council in the Polytechnic is God-sent and that Rector, whose appointment has been renewed for another four years is also a God-sent. He is a focused manager who is not giving in to distractions.

“So on behalf of the Governing Council, Federal Polytechnic Oko, I present to Prof. Godwin Onu a commemoration plaque for his commencement of a second tenure as Rector, Federal Polytechnic Oko, 2014-2017 and we wish him a very bountiful tenure because we believe and know that he will do more than he did in the first tenure,” Odukwe stated.

Responding, highly elated Onu said it was his greatest moment in the polytechnic, adding that he had never had it so good.

He said: “I feel honoured and motivated to be spurred to greater achievements with the present governing council.
