The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) yesterday reveal to newsmen that they lost four of its members positions to Rivers State for the 2012 batch B programme. It was also reveal that no fewer than 17 corps members were sanctioned for various offenses.
Rivers State coordinator of NYSC Mrs Josephine Okwunghae, who disclosed this during the passing out of the 2012 batch B corps members in Port Harcourt, said a total of 3,680 corps members were posted to the state.
She said eight corps members absconded from service while nine others were compel to have their service year extended by two weeks or five months in accordance with the subsisting provisions of the bye-law of the NYSC.
