The youth corps member who developed symptoms similar to those of the Ebola disease at the NYSC orientation camp in Katsina, Ige Kolawale, tested negative to Ebola and has moved to Lagos, Katsina State Commissioner for Health Mannir Talba said yesterday.

Speaking after the team on prevention and monitoring of the disease visited the NYSC camp yesterday, Talba noted that the patient was tested and found to be Ebola-free and had since reunited with his family in Lagos.

According to him, there is no need for alarm in the state over the reported case as government will ensure that the state is Ebola free just as three screening and isolation centers have been established in the three senatorial districts of the state.

He said the ministry is seriously liaising with the federal ministry of health to streamline its activities towards checking the spread of the virus and urged the general public to always provide information to assist the committee.
