Report reaching liveschoolnews desk has it that, Primary and secondary school teachers in 11 states across the country will tomorrow begins an indefinite strike over non implementation of 27.5 per cent Teachers’ Enhanced Salary Scale agreed by governors and the N18, 000 national minimum wage.
This was herald to newsmen by the president of Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) Comrade Michael Alogba Olukoya after National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of the union meeting in Abuja yesterday.
In a Communique issue, Michael instruct all teachers in the affected states to obey the directive.
The 11 states are CrossRiver, Ebonyi, Ekiti, Ogun, Edo, Kogi, Niger, Borno, Benue, Zamfara and Sokoto.
Olukoya, speaking to newsmen after the NEC meeting said affected state wings of the union have been sufficiently mobilized to enforce the restoration of teachers’ integrity and honour and they won’t call off the strike until payment of all outstanding packages were made.
