NUC Accreditation Team Storms College of Medicine

Ekiti State University has played host to the accreditation panel of the National Universities Commission who came to assess the facilities on ground towards the full accreditation of the College of Medicine.

This was the second top level visit of accreditation panel in two weeks following the visit of the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria who visited the University for on the spot assessment of the infrastructural facilities as well as Human resources required for the accreditation of the College of Medicine.

The NUC Team was received by the Vice-Chancellor and his Principal Officers at the Council Chamber while the leadership of the College of Medicine and Deans of Faculties were also present.

In his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Patrick Oladipo Aina informed the NUC team that the people of Ekiti State were anxious to have their own College of Medicine adding that the Governor, Dr. Peter Ayodele Fayose had invested substantially to provide needed human and material requirements.

Prof. Aina believed the NUC team would do their job as expected of them.  The Provost of the EKSU College of Medicine, Prof. Mathew Araoye said the College was prepared for the accreditation exercise.

Prof. Araoye explained further that the college has very high standard Academic Staff of the College of Medicine is of the highest standard while the infrastructural facilities and modern architectural masterpieces.

The leader of the NUC team, Prof. James Odia promised to carry out the NUC assignment in the best interest of all, without bias.
