The National Universities Commission has accredited 17 programmes in Kwara State University, this was made know to liveschoolnews reporter by the Vice Chancellor of the institution, professor AbdulRaseed Na’Allah.

The National Universities Commission has released the result of the first two phases of accreditation visits to KWASU last year.

In those two visits, a total of 17 academic programs were reviewed by the various NUC panels and the University achieved 100% accreditation for all the pograms:

Fifteen academic programs were given full accreditation, while only two had interim accreditation, meaning that none of the 17 programme presented by the University in the first two phases was denied accreditation.

The accredited programmes are as follow:

1 Accounting- Interim

2 Business and Entrepreneurship -Interim

3 Performing Arts- Full

4 Islamic Studies -Full

5 Christian Studies -Full

6 Linguistics -Full

7 English Language and Literary Studies -Full

8 Arabic Lang & Lit -Full

9 Geology -Full

10 Biochemistry -Full

11 Industrial Chemistry -Full

12 Mathematics -Full

13 Microbiology -Full

14 Plant and Environmental Biology -Full

15 Physics -Full

16 Economics -Full

17 Political Science -Full

In an email to the University Community, the Vice –Chancellor of KWASU Professor AbdulRaseed Na’Allah congratulated the successful Departments, their students and staff for the brilliant achievements.

The NUC accreditation panels had on the 27th to 30th of Agust,2012 reviewed programmes in the College of Humanities, Management and Social Science and between the 3rd to 7th of March 2012 evaluated programmes in the College of Pure and Applied Sciences. Results for the 3rd accreditation panel which visited the College of Information and Communication Technology and College of Education on the 26th of November is expected to be released soon, while the visit of the NUC to programmes in the College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine will take place later this year 2013.
