Many Students Feared Dead In Potiskum Bomb Blast

Report reaching our news desk has it that Bomb explosion occurred at Comprehensive Secondary School, Potiskum, Yobe State on Monday morning during Assembly, killing scores of students and several others injured.

The military source said over 47 bodies of students and teachers lay in the assembly area  with many others sustaining injuries.


Other schools in the area have been closed down.

The explosive, believed to have been convey into the school by a suicide bomber, went off just as students gathered for the morning assembly.

The identity of the suicide bomber is unknown but there are suggestions he might be one of the students of the school or an impersonator who mixed with students in the assembly ground.

Speaking exclusively to grapevine, the spokesperson of the Yobe State Command of the Nigeria Police, Nansak Chegwam said Suicide bomber who disguised as a student blew self up at the Assembly ground of Government Science Secondary School Potiskum Yobe‬ State today 10th November, 2014 at about 7:45am. 47 dead recorded and 79 people sustained injuries, victims have been rushed to the hospital for medical attention. Police Bomb experts are working on the scene as investigation is in progress.
