ACADEMIC Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) branch of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, has sought the approval of the National Executive Council (NEC) of the union to embark on strike to back its demand for the composition of Governing Council for the institution.
The lack of the statutory body, according to the union, had been impeding the running of the university in accordance with the law governing it, saying, “we can no longer obey orders from inappropriate contraptions which the running of the university has been reduced to.”
This was contained in a release signed by Oyegoke Oyebamiji and Azeez Musibau, Chairperson and Secretary respectively and made available to journalists in Ibadan, onTuesday.
The union, in reiterating that any infraction of whatever nature on the edict establishing the university should be condemned and resisted in line with adherence to the principles of the union, lamented that the university had been operating without a governing council for the past 15months READ FULL DETAILS
