Report reaching schoolwatch.com.ng HQ has it that the management of Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO) has approved the purchase of 301 HP Desktop computers to enable it conduct the Computer Based Test (CBT) Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board Examinations (JAMB).
The vice-chancellor of the university gave the approval following the recent selection of the university by JAMB as one of the centres for CBT UTME examinations.
The CBT is one of the innovations introduced by JAMB to electronically administer the UTME examination with the objective of eliminating examination malpractices and ensure a hitch-free examination.
The Acting Director, ICT Unit, Dr A. C. Onyeka commended the vice chancellor for promptly responding to their request for additional computers, saying that will enable them achieve the desired effects.
The 2015 CBT UTME examination has been slated to commence on 4th March, 2015
