Gunmen on Monday night invade the University of Jos, killing two policemen.
Liveschoolnews.com.ng was inundated with the news of the death of the two policemen who were on guard at the university.
Liveschoolnews.com.ng grapevine gathered that the victims were an Inspector of police and a corporal.
The Inspector was said to have put up to 25 years in the service while the corporal was a young policeman, who has just started his career.
Our correspondent gathered that the gunmen, who were about 15 in number, swooped on the security men, who were on guard at the permanent site of the University on Monday at about 11pm and opened fire on them.
The motive of the attacker was not known.
One of their colleagues, who escaped the attack by the whiskers, said the gunmen escaped in the car which brought them.
The killing of the guards created panic within the University community, forcing both the students and other people living within the vicinity to scamper for safety before a reinforcement of security men arrived at the scene.
Police Public Relations Officer, Emmanuel Abuh, confirmed the incident.
Abuh said men of the Command had commenced full investigation into the dastardly act with the aim of tracking down the perpetrators of the act, who fled immediately after the attack.
