Governor Fayose Promises Adequate Funding Of EKSU College of Medicine

The Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Peter Ayodele Fayose has promised the management of Ekiti State University his administration would take necessary measures toward achieving full accreditation status for the programmes of Ekiti State College of Medicine.

Governor Fayose made the promise while receiving the accreditation panel of the National Universities Commission (NUC) who were as a visitation to the College of Medicine to assess its readiness for accreditations.

The Governor who extolled the leadership values of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Patrick Oladipo Aina, FAS described the College of Medicine as a worthwhile initiative.
He said that his administration would leave no stone unturned to ensure adequate funding of the College of Medicine.  Governor Fayose who is also the visitor to the University, expressed his admiration for the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Aina and his team especially the Provost, College of Medicine, Prof. Mathew Araoye for their hardwork and doggedness.

Earlier, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Oladipo Aina had introduced the members of the NUC accreditation panel to the Governor adding that the EKSU College of Medicine has the best medical library in Nigeria.  He stress that the College could boost of ultramodern infrastructure, well equipped laboratories, quality academic staff and a newly constructed medical student’s newly hostel.

The leader of the NUC team, Prof. James Odiah from the University of Port-Harcourt informed the Governor that the EKSU College of Medicine was prepared for accreditation but added that there should be increased funding at seriously

The Governor alongside the Deputy Governor, His Excellency, Kolapo Olusola Eleka, Secretary to State Government, Modupe Alade, Barr. Diipo Anisulowo, and Barrister Owoseni Ajayi joined were at the occasion.
