Federal University of Technology (FUTA) Reopens 9th Dec. 2013, Lectures Start 6th Jan. 2014

The management of Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) has decided to resumed full academic activities amidst ASUU Strike.

The management of the institution has also herald the date for commencement of lectures. We can categorically say that this will happen with or without ASUU calling off the ongoing strike, but we do know that the ASUU strike will be call off this week.

In a statement released by the management, we have the following:

The attention of all staff, students and the general public is hereby invited to the fact that the Federal University of Technology, Akure Management has directed that the University be reopened for academic and allied activities with effect from Monday, 9th December, 2013.

However, in view of the upcoming Christmas and New Year celebrations, lectures will resume with effect from Monday, 6th January, 2014.

All students are, therefore, requested to be in residence from 5th January, 2014.


This is a very important information for Federal University of Technology, Akure student and lecturers.
