Federal Poly Shuts Down Indefinitely

The management of the Federal Polytechnic, Ado Ekiti had on Monday shut down the institution indefinitely following a violent protest by some aggrieved students.

The Students staged a protest against a hike in tuition fees payable in the institution.

The protest, which affected the part time students, was caused by increment in school fees at the Federal Polytechnic Continuing Education Centre, Ado Ekiti.

Speaking to schoolwatch.com.ng grapevine, the Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr Theresa Akande , said all students should vacate the polytechnic premises immediately in ordered to restore normalcy.

Theresa Akande attested to dialogue with the protesting students to find a solution to the crisis.

Meanwhile, Policemen have been deployed to the campus to maintain law and order.
