This is to inform all students of the Delta State University, Abraka (DELSU) that the Vice-Chancellor ­, Professor Eric A. Arubayi has approved the 2012/2013 Students Union Elections.

To this effect, the following time-table has been put in place for the elections:

Monday, 18th February- Friday 1st March, 2013- Sales and submission of Nomination Forms

Monday, 4th – Wednesday 6th March,2013 – First level screening

Thursday, 7th – Monday, 11th March, 2013- Second level screening

Tuesday, 12th March, 2013 – Publication of list of cleared Aspirants and campaign by Aspirants

Wednesday, 13th March, 2013 – Campaign ends by 10.00am

MANIFESTO: Presidential and Secretary General Aspirants.

VENUE: Open space in front of Council and Ethiope Halls.

TIME: 11.00am

Thursday, 14th March, 2013 – Elections Day:

VENUE: Open space in front of Council and Ethiope Halls.

TIME: 8.00am – 1.00pm.

Thursday, 21st March, 2013 – Swearing – in – ceremony

VENUE: Pre-Degree Hall.

TIME: 10.00am

All Aspirants are hereby requested to pick up nomination forms from the Secretary of the Electoral Committee,Mrs. O. N. Akpobi in the Students Affairs Division noting the following criteria:

* Aspirant must be registered, matriculated and must have spent at least one academic session in the University.

* Aspirant must not have been found guilty of misconduct by the Students’ Disciplinary Committee (SDC), Students’ Disciplinary Committee on Examination Malpractice (SDCEM) or any other constituted tribunal.

* Aspirant can only contest for one (1)elective post in one (1) parliamentary year.

* Aspirant must not hold an Executive position in any other Association, Club or Society affiliated to the Students’ Union.

* Aspirant cumulative grade point average (CGPA) should not be less than 2.50
