Consequence of Living Under The Same Roof With a Guy On Campus. A Must Read For Female Students.
Base on a true life story from Delta State University, Abraka…..
She was just a year one student when she met Ken. He was a handsome and financially comfortable guy. Tina could not help it but to fall in love with him. One thing led to another, and she moved into his apartment. They began to live as man and wife even without proper marital vows. At first it was interesting. The romance, love making and closeness. She was doing the cooking, washing her cloths and that of Ken, even his dirty under wears. Sometimes, Ken comes home drunk with his friends and she has to cook for them and wash Ken up when he vomits and soils himself. Whenever Ken becomes angry, he beats are up, inflicting series of injuries on her.
Any money she received from her parents, she will use it to stock the house with food stuff. She got pregnant countless times and went for abortion.
It was one unfortunate pregnancy that occurred which led to a catastrophic change of her story.
It was just difficult to abort the child. After spending close to a fifty five thousands naira, the thing just refused to disappear. She had to confront her parents and Ken denied her. Then he was in final year and she was no where because she had already missed twenty five papers from different semesters. She had to drop out of DELSU. when Ken graduated, he served and left the country. Since then, (4 years now), she have never heard from him. Now she is roasting and selling corn along one of the streets of Ikaland.
The University is not just an academic environment, but a place where maximum experience is expected to be gained by those who pass through it. Great decisions that change the lives of many are made during this process and also great mistakes that destroys the lives of many are equally made. No decent girl, should ever in her life, get to school, because of love, move in to live under the same roof with a man who is not her husband. There is no wisdom in that!!!!
Students of higher institutions are, therefore, admonished not to engage in cohabiting, it does not pay and it does not necessarily lead to a lasting relationship or end in proper marriage.
