WHAT IS SPECIMEN R/S USE FOR- They are use for egg candling.
DISCRIBE THE OPERATION.
An egg is usually placed on top of a case aid light rays from the lamp is connected to the main pass through the egg from the opening.
STATE THE USE OF EGG CANDLER.
It is used to test the hatch ability of egg by a process called candling.
The process will detect the following

LIFE CYCLE OF TICK
The life cycle of most tick occurs in four stages.
There stages are egg- the sarvage- the nymph and the adult stages.
1. Egg. A mature female tick- after sucking blood from it host- drops down and lays her eggs in the ground under grass and then dies.
2. LARVAC. The egg hatches into sarvag with six legs. The Larva crawls into the grass and attaches itself to the skin of any animal passing by. The larva feed on the blood of the host and then falls on the ground.
3. NYMPHS: The larva now on the ground mouths into a nymph with eight legs. The nymph also crawls and attaches itself to a second host. It feeds on the host and later drops to the ground.
4. ADULT: The nymph now on the ground finally moults into an adult tick which crawls into the grass and actaches itself into a third host. If the adult tick is a female, it will insert it’s mount parts immediately Into the skin of the host and sucks blood. But if the adult tick is a male, it does not fix itself to the host but crawls on the skin in search of a female tick to mate with.
After mating with the female, the male dies. When the ground and lays it eggs and the whole cycle is repeated.
The tick is an Ectoparasite of cattle, sheep or goat. The body of tick is divided into two.- the head and abdomen, it has four pairs of tough leathery integement and possesses a toothed hypostone- a piercing organ for for sucking bloods of the host.
EFFECT OR ECONOMIC IMPORTANCE OF TICK.
1. It causes skin irritatation resulting to restlessness and leading to loss of weight.
2. Sucking spots develop sore on the skin providing consequently the animal becomes anaemic and weak.
4. The skin of the animal is destroyed leading to poor hides.
5. Tick transmit diseases such as red water fever, relapsing fever, east coast fever etc.
6. Infestation of young animals results in retarded growth.
1. Physically removal from the body of the animal.
2. Spray the animal house with insecticides such as B H C or malathion.
3. Dip infected animals into a solution of arsente.
4. Rotation of livestock and pasture
5. New stocks are to be isolated to ensure they are free from infection.
