The Counselling Unit of Students’ Affairs Division, University of Lagos is set to organize a Business Plan Competition for undergraduates of the University. The first prize is N250,000.00 while the second prize is N150, 000.00 and the third Prize is N100, 000.00 .
The Competition, sponsored by Stanbic IBTC Bank, aims t o: promote business ideas in students and encourage them to become entrepreneurs; sensitize students on opportunities around them; and provide an opportunity for the best three winners to access cash prizes which could serve as initial capital.
Interested students are advised to obtain an application Form ( Free of Charge) and submit their entries/proposals on or before Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at the Counselling Centre, First Floor of Bookshop Building, UNILAG Main Campus, Akoka.
The entry/proposal (Layout) should include :
1. Brief statement of objectives;
2. Market survey of the proposed Business Plan;
3. Skill/Experience in the field;
4. Financial target – cash flow, projection;
5. Benefits of the product/service;
5. Financial cost and utilization;
6. Setting up of the business;
7. Short term/implementation;
8. Long term view; and
v Presentation at each stage must be in power point.
v Ten (10) copies of proposal/entry MUST be submitted (binding is not required).
v Typing should be in 1.5 line space.
The Entries/Proposals should be based on the following areas of focus:
Agri-business; Information Technology/Software Development; Construction & Property Development ; Food Processing ; AlternativeEnergy Supply ; Fashion/Garments ; Transportation ; Electronics ; Communication ; Beauty/Health ; Environmental Preservation ; Tourism/Hospitality ; Education ; and Financial Services.
The Elimination Stage for the Competition will hold on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at 10:00 a.m . in the Julius Berger Lecture Theatre, UNILAG Main Campus, Akoka whilethe Grand Finale Stage will hold on Thursday, June 27, 2013 at 10:00 a.m . in the Main Auditorium, UNILAG, Akoka.
