Report reaching schoolwatch.com.ng news desk has it that, normal academic activities have resumed at the University of Port Harcourt after a three-day strike by lecturers of the institution.
The ASUU chapter of the University under the Chairmanship of Prof. Anthonia Okerengwo commenced strike last week over the delay in the payment of their February salaries and allowances.
On why they decided to return to the classrooms after the strike, Prof Okerengwo confirmed that the management of UNIPORT has reconciled all outstanding allowances.
Some students who spoke with schoolwatch.com.ng grapevine expressed gladness at the resumption of lectures.
Spokesman of the institution, Dr. William Wordi thanked the University lecturers for their cooperation and told the students to be on alert as examinations are set to begin soon.
The Matriculation ceremony for all newly admitted students of the University of portharcourt has been schedule to hold on friday, 28th March, 2014.
