The Executive Secretary of National Board for Technical Education, Dr Mansood Kazuare has declared that the strike embarked by Polytechnic staff will be resolved within the next few weeks.
Answering questions of polytechnic students during the interactive session on TETfund allocations to tertiary institutions in the north west in Zaria on Thursday, Dr Kazaure said that more channels of communication have been open to resolve the allowance payment deadlock.
He said that the strike has lingered due to the refusal of ASUP and COEASU. to accept the Federal Government’s offer to pay the allowance of ASUP and COEASU In two installments.
The NBTE scribe who accompanies the Supervising Minister of Education to negotiations with the unions said the Minister and the unions have resumed final talks to find a middle ground for the payment to effected.
According to him: “the Supervising Minister of Education has opened up new communication line with the unions to end in a shortly.”
This is certainly a palatable news to all Nigeria Polytechnics Students.
