Report reaching liveschoolnews desk has it that, Seventy four students of the University of Ilorin were apprehended on campus by the school officers over indecent dressing.

Liveschoolnews gathered that, the 74 Students that cut across different faculties were two weeks ago, served with summon letter to appear before the University’s disciplinary panel.

The affected students as gathered, appeared before the university’s panel on Tuesday to riposte questions on why they put on outfits that violate the university’s dress code.

It was gathered that the erring students who were mostly female pleaded guilty of contravening the university’s regulations on dress code before the panel, and that they were asked to sign an undertaking not to repeat the offence.

An official of the University who pleaded to remain anonymity Said “Being first offenders, the university was magnanimous enough to pardon them consequent upon their promise to comply with the dress code”.

The source added, “Unilorin has a dress code and as a university, we don’t make mess of our policy. So, this dress code is a continuous thing to ensure regular compliance of students”.

Reacting to the situation, the Deputy Director, Corporate Affairs of the university, Mr. Kunle Akogun, said the exercise is routine “to check unruly behaviour and maintain the university standard”

Liveschoolnews recommend that parents be good moral exemplars to their children, give them attention and regulate the films they watch at homes, the mass media must promote good moralvalues, religious leaders must preach against, counsel and deliver those under demonic influence.
